We are four undegraduate students of the English Language and Literature School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece. We are fourth-year students and we all attend the American Urban Spaces and Identity Course which is the actual reason this blog came alive! Our names are Kioura Eleni, Bogdanou Aikaterini, Papadopoulou Athina and Ferentinou Ioanna and our supervisor is Professor Tatiani Rapatzikou.

Our passion for creative projects and for research on literature during our academic years led us also to the construction of this very site. What you read in this site is definitely the outcome of this combination.

ELENI KIOURA

εικόνα_Viber_2022-01-20_19-12-52-868.jpg

From the first day of primary school, Eleni Kioura was fascinated by the idea of teaching, so she decided to teach her friends and cousins every afternoon despite their willing to play as all children normally do in their free time. Her early aptitude to teaching and her love for the English language and culture led her to the School of English of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece where she has almost qualified for being a professional English teacher as she is a senior undergraduate student.

Moreover, she is also interested in linguistic research. In the context of her senior thesis, she is currently conducting her research on the phonology of the Vlach dialect as she comes from Metsovo, a picturesque and Vlach-speaking town close to Ioannina, in Epirus. Despite being a linguistics lover, she avidly reads literature since she acquired her reading skills as a child. Eleni is convinced that literature can be such entertaining a way to acquire a foreign or a second language effectively.
